Description: The edible part of the goose barnacle is violet in colour with a tough hard skin that ends in a tip covered in various hard scales. Its foot allows it to anchor itself to rocks forming clusters. The Galician goose barnacle is distinguishable from the Moroccan one for being thicker and darker and its tip is more pointed and reddish and has more scales than the one from the Canaries.
